Seeb Club secured their spot in the semifinals of the 43rd Arab Men’s Volleyball Club Championship, hosted in Doha, Qatar, since January 16 and concluding on January 25.

Seeb’s qualification came after a thrilling victory over Qatar Club, winning three sets to two in a marathon match that lasted two hours and forty minutes. The match was marked by fierce competition between the two teams. Seeb started strongly, dominating the first set with solid defence and diverse attacks. They managed to clinch the set in a nail-biting finish, 32-30, after a series of exciting ties in the final points.

In the second set, Qatar Club regained their balance, improving their serve and quick attacks to secure the set 25-22. Qatar maintained their momentum in the third set, dictating the pace with precise passes and powerful strikes, taking the set 25-21.

However, Seeb showed remarkable determination in the fourth set, making a strong comeback despite immense pressure from Qatar. They clinched the set 27-25, thanks to excellent defensive performance and coordinated strikes, levelling the match and forcing a decisive fifth set. The final set witnessed intense competition between the two sides, fuelled by electrifying enthusiasm and crowd support. Seeb delivered an exceptional performance in the critical moments, capitalising on Qatar Club’s errors to secure an 18-16 victory, guaranteeing their place in the semifinals.

With this victory, Seeb Club is set to face Egypt’s Al Ahly Club in the semifinals on Friday. The winner will advance to the final, scheduled for Saturday, where they will compete against the winner of the match between Egypt’s Zamalek and Qatar’s Al Shurta Club.

Al Ahly beat Salam

In another quarterfinal match, Oman's Al Salam Club lost to Egypt’s Al Ahly Club in straight sets (25-17, 25-22, 25-22). Salam Club advanced to the quarterfinals after finishing second in their group. They achieved an impressive victory over UAE’s Baniyas Club in straight sets but suffered a defeat against Libya’s Al Swehly Club, losing 3-0. Meanwhile, Seeb Club also advanced to the quarterfinals as runners-up in their group alongside Egypt’s Zamalek Club. Seeb earned their spot with a convincing win over Kuwait Club in straight sets, raising their tally to six points and securing second place.
