Muscat: The Environment Authority, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, has successfully cracked down 17 unauthorised sites involved in selling wood in the Arzat Plain, Wilayat of Salalah, confiscating three tonnes of timber.

This operation is part of an ongoing campaign to combat illegal logging and curb the exploitation of plant resources across various governorates.

It is worth noting that the regulations governing logging and charcoal production strictly prohibit the export of firewood and charcoal or logging without an official permit from the Environment Authority.

This measure aims to protect the environment and ensure the sustainability of its natural resources.
