The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, will host a key dialogue session on January 29, 2025, uniting key stakeholders to enhance the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups in driving innovation and economic development. The session highlights the nation’s commitment to fostering collaboration and empowering entrepreneurs in vital sectors.
On Tuesday, the SMEs Development Authority extended an open invitation to SMEs and startup owners to participate in Dialogue Session 9. The event focuses on expanding opportunities for the development and investment of startups in the transport, logistics, and information technology sectors. The Authority emphasised that this session continues Oman’s approach to fostering partnerships and integration, with active involvement from their key partner, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
Under the theme Fostering Partnership and Communication, the session aims to unlock the potential of SMEs and startups in the transport, logistics, and information technology sectors—industries critical to Oman’s economic diversification efforts and offering significant prospects for innovation and growth.
The event will feature Halima bint Rashid AL Zaria, Chairperson of the SMEs Development Authority, and Eng Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology. Both leaders will address participants, stressing the importance of nurturing a supportive ecosystem for SMEs and fostering meaningful collaboration with relevant entities.
The dialogue session seeks to achieve several key objectives, including strengthening partnerships by promoting synergy and integration between SMEs and stakeholders to create a collaborative business environment. It also aims to contribute to policy development by establishing robust support mechanisms for SMEs in Oman, exploring promising opportunities in vital economic sectors, and inspiring innovation by encouraging entrepreneurs to present groundbreaking ideas that advance these industries.
This event underscores Oman’s dedication to entrepreneurship, providing SMEs and startups with a platform to engage with policymakers, industry leaders, and peers.
