The 10th edition of the Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF) commenced its three-day conference at the JW Marriott Muscat Hotel here on January 20, 2025, drawing together industry leaders and experts in the field of artificial lift technologies. The event focuses on the growing use of artificial lift systems in oil production operations across the Middle East.
The forum provided cutting-edge technical solutions while fostering a global hub for knowledge-sharing and best practices to meet the future needs of the industry. It cultivated a sense of community among artificial lift users, offering a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences.
The opening ceremony was attended by Eng Mohsin bin Hamad al Hadhrami, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, who delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the crucial role of artificial lift technologies in optimising oil recovery and enhancing production efficiencies across the region.
In his speech, Al Hadhrami, said, "Artificial lift is crucial for maintaining oil production in Oman, due to the unique nature of our reservoirs, which require lifting systems from the outset, unlike other countries with natural flow." He added: "As leaders, we must encourage collaboration and the sharing of ideas. In my experience, success comes from addressing challenges with technology providers, rather than working in isolation."
As part of the opening celebrations, the event also honoured its key sponsors, acknowledging their contributions to the success of the forum. These sponsors play a pivotal role in advancing the development and application of artificial lift solutions, vital for ensuring the continued growth and sustainability of the oil and gas sector.
In addition, the MEALF 2025 exhibition offered delegates the opportunity to explore the latest equipment, technologies, and services related to artificial lift operations. The exhibition ensured participants remain informed about the most current products and innovations on the market, aligning with the forum’s commitment to upholding industry-leading standards. MEALF 2025 is set to be a vital event for professionals looking to stay at the cutting edge of artificial lift technologies, playing a key role in advancing energy security and sustainability across the region.
Since its inception in 2003, MEALF has served as a premier platform for fostering dialogue and innovation in the artificial lift domain. This year’s edition brings together a diverse range of stakeholders, from engineers to policymakers, offering valuable opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange.
The 10th Middle East Artificial Lift Forum has reinforced its role in driving innovation and collaboration, shaping the future of oil production in the region through ongoing dialogue and technological advancements.
