Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in Muscat Governorate, through its Complaints Division, successfully mediated an amicable settlement between a consumer and a construction, building materials, and decoration company, resulting in a refund of 2,217 RO.

According to case details, the consumer had entered into an agreement with the company to purchase house stone that met specific specifications and a set delivery timeline. The agreement stipulated that the stone would be exported to Kuwait after the full purchase amount was paid. However, the company failed to fulfill its commitment and delayed the delivery.

Following the delay, the consumer filed a complaint with the Complaints Division, which promptly took action by summoning the concerned parties and reviewing the details of the case. After discussions, an amicable settlement was reached, leading to the cancellation of the contract and a full refund to the consumer.

The Consumer Protection Authority reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring compliance with established laws and regulations, emphasizing its proactive role in resolving disputes and addressing consumer grievances.
