

Al Bashayer achieved a thrilling and hard-fought victory over Seeb 81-80, securing the top spot in the overall standings with six points, while Seeb came second with five points. In other match, Nizwa beat Ahli Sidab 69-55, raising their tally to four points and securing third place in the final qualifiers of the 2024–2025 Oman Basketball League at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Friday.
The first match between Al Bashayer and Seeb was highly competitive and exciting, with both teams exchanging control throughout the game. The match ended in a tie during regular time, requiring a fifth overtime period, where Al Bashayer clinched victory by a single point. Standout players for Al Bashayer included Samkiel Oglas, Slavin Kubkavik, Hadeed Bait Bakhit, Ahmed al Halhali and Osama al Riyami. On the Seeb side, notable performances came from Romeo Wilfred, Rashid al Zuhaibi, Mazen al Hadidi and Abdulrahman al Shaibi.
Al Bashayer started the game strongly, scoring 21 points compared to Seeb’s 15 in the first quarter. However, Seeb bounced back in the second quarter, scoring 22 points against Al Bashayer's 11, ending the first half with Seeb leading 37-32.
In the third quarter, Al Bashayer regained momentum, dominating the court by scoring 20 points while limiting Seeb to 11 points, closing the quarter ahead 52-48. The fourth quarter saw Seeb revive their performance, scoring 24 points against Al Bashayer's 20, ending regular time in a 72-72 tie.
In the decisive fifth overtime, Al Bashayer edged out Seeb by scoring 9 points to Seeb’s 8, securing the narrow victory at 81-80.
The match was officiated by international referee Ahmed Darwish al Balushi as the first referee, Rashid al Mushaifri as the second referee and Ali al Salmani as the third referee. Omaima al Hajriya, Miad al Hamdaniya and Hafidh Awlad Ahmed handled the scoring table.
NIZWA PREVAIL
In the second match, Nizwa started strongly in the first quarter and maintained their lead throughout the game, finishing the quarters with scores of 17-11, 22-15, 14-20 and 16-9.
The victory was driven by outstanding performances from Ajil Tonian, Mohammed al Anqoudi, Basil al Subhi and Saif al Toubi. For Ahli Sidab, Adel al Batashi, Jali Ki and Haitham Bani Arabah stood out.
The match was officiated by international referee Issam al Siyabi as the first referee, Mazen al Hilali as the second referee and Taha al Amri as the third referee. Jumaa al Hinai, Saeed al Ghamari and Majid al Akhzami managed the scoring table.
