Step into a realm reminiscent of the enchanting floral landscapes of Alice in Wonderland, where nature and art come alive in mesmerising harmony. The Muscat Flower Festival is captivating visitors with a vibrant celebration of Oman’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

At the festival, visitors are greeted by exquisite arrangements featuring flowers like Gloriosa, Sandersonia, Cymbidium, Casablanca Lily or Tillandsia. Each display narrates a unique story, intertwining nature’s elegance with the traditions of Oman. These installations offer a multisensory journey, transporting attendees from the shifting sands of desert dunes to the tranquil serenity of Oman’s coastal scenes.

At the heart of this blooming wonderland is Bloom Oman, founded by visionary floral artist Madhvi and Ramesh Khimji. Her awe-inspiring designs capture the spirit of Oman’s diverse environments and reflect her deep admiration for the nation’s natural and cultural wealth.

“Bloom Oman is more than floral design; it’s a tribute to Oman’s essence. Through this initiative, I aim to share the beauty of our landscapes, the richness of our culture and our commitment to sustainability,” Madhvi shares, encapsulating the festival’s ethos.

Madhvi’s designs honour Oman’s traditions, incorporating unique materials like date fronds, coconut palms and native blooms. Collaborations with international floral luminaries, including Bill Schaffer and Alex Segura, alongside experts Phubast Chesdmethee from Thailand, Sam Lemheney from the US, and Singapore, lend a global finesse to the displays.

The festival comes in the backdrop of Oman, the first GCC country, to join the World Association of Floral Artists (WAFA). The festival also features contributions from the Royal Court Affairs (RCA), with displays highlighting the creativity of Omani handicrafts, blending natural and artificial roses into stunning compositions.

For Madhvi, each floral creation is more than an arrangement — it’s a heartfelt story celebrating Oman’s identity. Installations like Moonlit Mirage evoke the tranquil beauty of desert evenings, while Urban Oasis bridges natural elements with contemporary design.

“The journey from concept to creation has been one of discovery and pride, blending tradition and innovation to share Oman’s story with the world,” Madhvi says, reflecting on months of meticulous planning and dedication by her team.
