Muscat: The online registration for admissions to Indian Schools in the capital area for the academic year 2025-2026 will commence on January 20 for classes Balvatika to IX.

This registration process applies to seven Indian Schools in the capital area, namely Indian School Bousher, Indian School Muscat, Indian School Darsait, Indian School al Wadi Al Kabir, Indian School al Ghubra, Indian School al Seeb, and Indian School al Maabela.

Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman, said, “The centralized admission system introduced by the Board has significantly simplified the admission process, ensuring convenience for both parents and schools during peak admission periods. Our online portal provides comprehensive information about admission procedures, available vacancies, and frequently asked questions, reducing the stress of finding suitable school placements for parents.”

Parents seeking admission to the International Wings (Cambridge Syllabus) of Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir and Indian School Al Ghubra must also register through the online portal.

Admissions are open to Indian children with valid resident visas.

For admission to Balvatika, children must have completed three years as of April 1, 2025.

Provisions for children with special needs are available at the Care and Special Education (CSE) center, located on the premises of Indian School Muscat. Parents interested in these facilities can contact the CSE administration directly.

The Board of Directors also announced the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) across all Indian Schools in Oman. Under NEP 2020, the academic structure has been redefined into the 5+3+3+4 system, emphasizing a holistic and developmental approach.

The Foundational Stage now encompasses a 3-year Kindergarten program comprising Balvatika, Kindergarten I, and Kindergarten II followed by Classes 1 and 2, catering to children aged 3 to 8 years, a shift from the earlier two-year Kindergarten structure to a 3-year structure.

Parents are encouraged to complete the registration process before the closing date of February 20, 2025.
