Muscat: As the Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrates its annual day on January 5, here are some of the key e-services launched by them as part of the national digital transformation plan for the benefit of both residents and citizens, who can avail these services at their fingertip on the phone or online.
The services include the Digital ID, when fully launched will allow users to avail of ROP services anywhere, including at airports, by just using their smartphones.
Traffic violations display service displays up to 100 violations at a time, with a note for any excess, in their mobile application. The user will be able to access the image of the traffic violation. It is necessary to update the ROP mobile application to the latest version.
Vehicle registration renewal online service is provided for the private, public sector, and Omani nationals and expatriates allowing them to renew the vehicles issued by the Royal Oman Police (Vehicle Permit).
Users can pay violations using bank applications, the Thawani wallet, and the Tasdeed Company’s electronic platform, and reprint the lost Vehicle license via a self-service kiosk.
ROP has established a link with the Ministry of Health and the electronic visa system to validate the medical examination certificates of the expatriate workforce, which will eliminate the need to attach them while applying for a visa before arriving in the Sultanate of Oman.
The mobile application will allow inquiring and paying local or Gulf traffic violations and municipal violations registered to citizens, residents, organizations, and companies.
The service also allows downloading the violations’ report through an advanced search by service category and period, as well as allowing the beneficiary to view e-payment history.
Other services include online mortgage addition or removal, a traffic safety institute portal, and a direct link with the Supreme Judicial Council to register marriage, among others.
