MUSCAT, JAN 2
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth through the national team campaign ‘We are all with the national team’ announced six flights which will carry the Oman national team fans to Kuwait as Red Warriors will take on Bahrain in the final clash of the Gulf Cup to decide the champion on Saturday at the Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium.
This was based on the post unveiled by the officials in the campaign page on the social media account that the private sector sponsors will announce separately about the registration for the fans. The partners include: Omantel, OQ, PDO, Sohar International, Ooredoo and Omran Group.
It is expected that fans will depart from Muscat in the morning on Saturday to arrive in Kuwait few hours ahead of the concluding game. The Oman Football Association (OFA) confirmed that they had managed to allocate tickets to more than 20,000 Omani fans as the Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait can accommodate 60,000 fans.Besides that, many buses from the domestic companies provided their competitive offers for the fans to support Oman, who are seeking their third title, in their tough encounter against Bahrain.
Oman audience will also have many venues to watch the match including at Oman Automobile Association venue, Al Hafa area in Dhofar, Al Nahdi Walk in Al Seeb and many other areas. The fans’ hopes are high for claiming the title of Gulf Cup after Oman secured two titles in 2009 in Muscat and 2018 in Kuwait. Oman had ended as runners-up in the last edition in Basra in Iraq and they will look to regain the last title won in 2018 once again to make it three titles in total.
Oman, under head coach Rasheed Jaber, resumed training on Thursday after a rest day on Wednesday. The coaching staff has been rigorously analysing Bahrain’s semifinal performance against Kuwait to address potential weaknesses.
