IBRI: The Office of the Governor of Al Dhahirah has announced special preparations for the second edition of Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival 2025. A press conference was held at Al Dhahirah Municipality Hall, under the auspices of Najeeb bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah.

The second edition of the festival will be held in the Wilayat of Ibri from January 2 to 31. The festival will feature a range of activities daily from 4 pm to 11 pm throughout the month. Ahmed bin Rashid Al Marshoudi, the official spokesperson for Al Dhahirah Governorate and a member of the Executive Committee of Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival, highlighted the festival’s alignment with Oman Vision 2040, particularly in empowering governorates and enhancing decentralisation.

He also emphasised the success of the first edition of the festival, which attracted over 300,000 visitors and benefited job-seekers, productive families, home projects, and small and medium enterprises.

Al Marshoudi shared that the second edition will see an expansion of the event square and an increase in parking capacity. Additionally, the entrance and exit paths will be developed to alleviate congestion in the area. The festival will offer a variety of events, including family activities such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Village, a children’s play area and a shopping exhibition. There will also be numerous competitions and challenges.

For youth, the festival will feature the Adventure and Challenge Village, an Electronic Games Corner, and a Car Racing Circuit in cooperation with the Oman Automobile Association. Other highlights will include the Heritage Village, Cultural, Artistic, and Heritage Activities Corner, and a dedicated Restaurants and Cafes Area.

The festival will also host many accompanying events such as camel racing, a photography competition, fireworks displays, lighting and laser shows, as well as international shows and artistic performances throughout the festival.

The press conference was attended by several officials from government and private sectors in Al Dhahirah Governorate, along with media professionals, journalists and residents. – ONA
