Oman offers condolences to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan over plane crash

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman expressed on Thursday its sympathy and condolences to the governments and peoples of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, following the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near the city of Aktau, western Kazakhstan.


In a statement, Oman expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.


Meanwhile, the Embraer 190 aircraft was supposed to fly northwest from the Azerbaijani capital Baku to the city of Grozny in Chechnya in southern Russia, but instead diverted far off course across the Caspian Sea. It crashed on Wednesday near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan.
