Temperatures have also dropped in the mountain tops, with Jabal Shams recording a maximum of eight degrees Celsius and a minimum of two degrees. Saiq is also one of the coldest places in the country.

Night temperatures have dropped to under 20 degrees Celsius in many wilayats, including Salalah, Nizwa, Al Amerat, Khasab, Haima, Bahla and Sur, among others.

The Civil Aviation Authority has advised everyone to take precautions and avoid crossing wadis or going to the sea, as thunderstorms are expected on Thursday morning.

Heavy rains are expected due to the clouds accompanying the air trough on Thursday morning in the coastal areas of the governorates of Al Batinah North, Al Batinah South and Muscat.

There are also chances of rain in the governorates of Musandam, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Sharqiyah North and Al Sharqiyah South, with rainfall amounts ranging from 5-15 mm.
