MUSCAT: Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) announced its third public bidding round for green hydrogen project lands in March 2025, targeting at least two new sites in Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates. The initiative aims to diversify investors and attract global players from emerging markets like China, the US and Europe.
Eng Abdulaziz bin Said al Shidhani, Managing Director of Hydrom, highlighted the sector’s challenges, including fluctuating markets, political changes and technical barriers. He noted that improving production costs, driven by technological advancements and government incentives, would make green hydrogen more competitive globally.
Hydrom remains committed to expanding Oman’s green hydrogen portfolio, aligning with the country’s sustainability and economic goals. — ONA
