MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism hosted a workshop to boost golf tourism, engaging 40 international tourism companies from Asia and Europe and 20 local firms specialising in golf packages.

The workshop facilitated meetings between international and local stakeholders to promote Oman as a premier golf tourism destination. Khalid bin Mohammed al Azri, Director of Tourism Patterns at the Ministry, highlighted Oman’s strategic location, natural beauty, and cultural heritage as key attractions.

Al Azri stressed that golf tourism not only enhances sports tourism but also diversifies the economy and creates job opportunities for Omanis. Participants toured key tourist destinations in Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, and Al Dakhiliyah governorates as part of the programme.
