

Muscat: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, arrived in Kuwait on Sunday to head the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation at the 45th GCC Summit.
Shaikh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Jabir al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait led the welcoming part for HH Sayyid Fahd upon his arrival at the Amiri Airport.
HH Sayyid Fahd was also received by Shaikh Sabah Khalid Al Hamad al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, Shaikh Ahmed Abdullah Al Ahmed al Sabah, Prime Minister, Jassim Mohammed al Budaiwi, GCC Secretary General and a number of officials in the State of Kuwait.
Upon his arrival in the State of Kuwait, HH Sayyid Fahd gave a press statement reading as follows: “I am honoured to convey the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to his brethren, leaders of the GCC states, on the occasion of the 45th Summit of GCC leaders in the State of Kuwait. I am also honoured to convey His Majesty's sincere wishes of progress and prosperity to the leadership and people of State of Kuwait, along with his wishes that the conference be a success in achieving the desired goals.”
Since its establishment, the GCC has made accomplishments in many economic, social, legislative and scholarly fields. This calls for more efforts to preserve the gains and enhance cooperation and integration among the GCC peoples, who share a common history.
The accelerated pace of rapid developments on regional and international arenas requires the exchange of views to help reach a unified vision, coordinate stands and determine the best ways to deal with updates and challenges—so that member states could devote themselves to purse the path of growth aimed at serving their peoples and meeting the aspirations of future generations.
While reaffirming its timely support for the GCC march, the Sultanate of Oman expresses its great appreciation to the State of Kuwait for its efforts in this respect. We pray to the Almighty Allah to endow the Kuwaiti people and all other GCC peoples with the bounties of constant progress and prosperity."
HH Sayyid Fahd is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr Abdullah Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Dr Said Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy, Dr Saleh Amer al Kharousi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Kuwait and Abdullah Khalfan al Balushi, Head of the Private Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers.
