Let’s stop pretending. If you think the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel means anything more than a brief pause in the bloodshed, you’re living in a fantasy. This truce is no step toward peace — it’s a flimsy patch on a wound that’s been festering for nearly 80 years, a wound inflicted on the Palestinian people.
Palestinians continue to endure displacement, occupation, and violence on a scale that defies belief. They’ve been stripped of their homes, their land, and their dignity. The root of the Middle East’s endless turmoil isn’t some far-off mystery - it’s the brutal oppression of a stateless people by Zionist Jews.
If you still believe Zionism is anything other than a violent, colonialist ideology, then look no further than Gaza. The Israeli military’s slaughter of at least 50,000 civilians - most of them women and children - isn’t an accident. It’s not collateral damage. It’s a deliberate campaign of genocide. Entire families are buried beneath the rubble of their bombed-out homes, while survivors search desperately for remains to bury. Is this the “justice” Zionism claims to stand for?
This ceasefire, hyped as a diplomatic victory for the US, does nothing to address the horrors being inflicted daily. Israel, propped up by Western power and money, has no legitimate claim to the land it has stolen. The idea that anyone can coexist with a State built on oppression and lies is pure delusion.
The hypocrisy is staggering. We rightly condemn the atrocities of the Holocaust, where six million Jews and millions of others were murdered in Nazi concentration camps. But let’s not confuse the Jewish victims of those horrors with the Zionist political movement, which has its dark history.
The 1933 Haavara Agreement, a pact between certain Zionist groups and the Nazis, is a chilling reminder of the complexities of this history. Religious Jews who opposed Zionism were among those murdered by the Nazis - yet today Zionism wraps itself in the language of victimhood while oppressing others no differently from how the Nazis oppressed Jews. The Zionists have hijacked Judaism for their cruel motives.
The genocide in Gaza must not go unpunished.
The United States, once a supposed beacon of human rights, continues to bankroll and protect these war criminals. America’s military and economic power might strong-arm smaller nations into silence, but the world sees what’s happening. One day, the US will have to pay the price for standing on the wrong side of history.
As long as Palestinians remain stateless, living in refugee camps or under occupation, their struggle will fuel resistance. Groups like Hezbollah draw their strength from this injustice, positioning themselves as defenders of a people abandoned by the world. Even if Hezbollah lays down its arms for now, the rage and grief of the Palestinian people will not disappear.
Let’s call this ceasefire what it is: a mirage. A convenient illusion for Western politicians and media to sell as progress while the underlying nightmare continues unchecked.
Real peace will never come until Palestinian rights are restored, their stolen land is returned, and those responsible for these crimes face justice.
Until then, the cycle of violence will grind on and history will judge those who stood by and watched.
