MUSCAT: The Technical Committee of the National Digital Economy Program convened its second meeting for 2024, chaired by Dr Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology. Representatives from various government agencies participated.

The committee discussed the progress of recommendations from its previous meeting, reviewed the semi-annual reports to be submitted to the Council of Ministers, and evaluated the 2026–2030 National Digital Economy Program Plan.

Oman achieved significant progress in global rankings this year, moving up nine places to 41st in the e-government index and four places to 50th in the Network Readiness Index.
