MUSCAT: Oman Cricket (OC) has proudly announced its partnership with Mazoon Dairy, becoming the official Grassroots and Nourishment Partner and Associate Sponsor of Oman’s national cricket teams.
The collaboration, marked during a formal signing ceremony held on November 24, represents a shared vision to nurture athletic excellence, promote community well-being, and elevate cricket to greater heights in the Sultanate of Oman.
As part of this three-year agreement, Mazoon Dairy, Oman’s largest integrated dairy company, has committed to supporting Oman Cricket’s grassroots development initiatives, which currently nurture over 850 budding cricketers through its Academy and School Engagement Programmes. The programmes actively engage schools across Oman to inspire diverse participation in the sport and are open to cricket enthusiasts in Oman.
This partnership is set to expand the reach and impact of grassroots cricket, ensuring that players from all walks of life have the opportunity to develop their skills and passion for the game.
Mazoon Dairy’s sponsorship also extends to Oman’s national cricket teams. The sponsorship includes a three-year agreement for the national women’s team and the U19 men’s national team, along with a one-year agreement for the national men’s team.
The backing highlights the growing interest of dairy brands in international cricket, leveraging the sport’s massive global audience to enhance brand recognition and market presence.
The announcement comes at a moment of triumph for Oman Cricket, with the national team delivering outstanding performances during the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series held at home recently.
Oman stunned seasoned opponents, the Netherlands and the UAE, securing significant victories that underscored the team’s skill, resilience and potential.
The recent accomplishments provide an inspiring backdrop for the strengthened partnership with Mazoon Dairy, signalling a shared commitment to taking Omani cricket to the next level.
The partnership also promises to energise a packed calendar of grassroots activities organised by Oman Cricket.
Programmes such as the U19 High-Performance Programme and year-round Academy training sessions will provide continuous development opportunities for young athletes, while the Junior League, Inter-Academy Junior League, and School Coaching Programmes aim to engage nearly 1,600 participants by 2025.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nadia al Hamzi, Marketing Director, Mazoon Dairy, emphasised the alignment of values between Mazoon Dairy and Oman Cricket.
She said: "We are thrilled to partner with Oman Cricket in its mission to develop grassroots talent and nourish the future of cricket in Oman. This collaboration aligns with our dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting local athletes to achieve their full potential.
"Cricket embodies teamwork, discipline and perseverance—qualities that resonate deeply with Mazoon Dairy’s ethos.”
