MUSCAT: OQ Group welcomed its 11th batch of 220 graduates under its training-for-employment programme, marking another milestone in its commitment to empowering Omani talent. With this latest addition, the programme has benefited 1,798 individuals, equipping them with skills in engineering, technical, and administrative fields.

Engineer Ali bin Mohammed al Lawati, CEO of Human Resources and Technology at OQ, highlighted the company’s dedication to national workforce development. "OQ prioritizes empowering Omani youth by providing them with the tools and training necessary to excel in their careers," he said. The new batch of graduates will undergo rigorous training across various sectors to enhance their competencies and align with the organization’s goals.

The group’s efforts have significantly bolstered Omanization, achieving an 84% rate by September 2024. Beyond direct employment, OQ collaborates with contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with Omanization targets. Al Lawati emphasized that these initiatives are part of OQ’s broader commitment to local content development.

Additionally, OQ has funded scholarships for 128 students under the Oman Pioneers Scholarship Programme in partnership with Takatuf Oman. Between 2020 and 2024, the group trained over 2,785 individuals, reinforcing its role in human capital development.

Through these initiatives, OQ continues to align its efforts with Oman Vision 2040, contributing to sustainable growth and national development.
