Are we in winter? Not quite, replied the weather expert at the Oman Meteorology.


“The temperatures have begun to show a decrease,” he said.


“As per the climate, the winter in Oman will begin on December 21 or 22,” he said.


The mornings are noticeably cooler, especially at sunrise.


Many places in the Sultanate of Oman experienced low temperatures at night, going down lower than 20 degrees Celsius.


Sadiq recorded the lowest with 12.3 degrees Celsius, while Bidiyyah, Haima, Mazyunah, and Muqshin experienced temperatures ranging from around 17 degrees Celsius. Wadi Bani Khalid, Qairoon Hiriti, and Thumrait recorded around 18 degrees Celsius.


The highest temperature recorded was 33.6 degrees Celsius in Dana Wa Tayyin, followed by Ibri and Sunaynah ranging around 33, and Fahud, Bid Bid, Ibra, and Barka experienced a high of just 32 degrees Celsius.


Are we experiencing the onset of winter?


We are now at the tail end of November, so getting closer to December.


While we might have to still wait.


On Tuesday morning, there was a flow of clouds over parts of the coastal areas of Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates. High and medium cloud advection with chances of isolated rains have been forecasted for Musandam.


In addition, there are chances for low clouds or fog expected over parts of South Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta, and Dhofar Governorates.
