MUSCAT: Seeb secured essential victory over Nizwa with a final score of 71-64 in a match that was held at the secondary hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, as part of the Oman Basketball League.


The game was marked by excitement and intense competition between the two teams as both exchanging leads multiple times before Seeb clinched the win in the final quarter, capitalizing on their players' focus and efficient use of scoring opportunities. Standout players for Seeb included Aslam al Ajmi, Mazen al Hadidi, Romeo Wilfried, Rashid al Zuhaibi, Marwan al Hadidi, and Ahmed al Maamari. For Nizwa, notable performances came from Saif al Toubi, Qasem al Qasimi, and Abdulrahman al Sanani.


Seeb started the game strongly, with Mazen al Hadidi opening the scoring with two points from under the basket, followed by a successful three-pointer from teammate Aslam al Ajmi. Despite Nizwa's attempts to close the gap, including two points from Saif al Toubi and a three-pointer from Qasem al Qasimi, Seeb extended their lead through a series of points and quarter ended by Seeb leading 28-17.


In the second quarter, Nizwa showed significant improvement, striving hard to narrow the gap. Suleiman al Hinai scored two points with a precise shot from under the basket, followed by a spectacular three-pointer by Saif al Toubi, reducing the deficit to 28-22. However, Seeb maintained their advantage with Rashid al Zuhaibi adding two more points. The first half concluded with Seeb ahead 38-34.


The third quarter saw Nizwa dominating offensively, scoring 20 points to reduce the gap and take the lead, while Seeb managed only 13 points. The quarter ended with Nizwa leading 54-51.


In the fourth quarter, Seeb regained their balance and showcased impressive performance on both offense and defense. Their players scored 20 points, while Nizwa could only manage 10 points. With this strong comeback, Seeb secured the win with a final score of 71-64, sealing the game in a thrilling encounter between the two teams.
