RIYADH: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers for the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit scheduled today in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The summit will discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Palestinian territories and Lebanon and the current regional developments.

The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.

Al Rahbi told ONA that within the context of the Sultanate of Oman's unwavering policy, which underscores the importance of security and stability in the Middle East, we renew our call to intensify international efforts to stop the cycle of violence and maintain sustainable peace in the region.

He added that the Sultanate of Oman is committed to promoting peaceful solutions and finding just settlements to conflicts, most notably the Palestinian cause, based on its belief that a permanent solution will only be achieved through dialogue and respect for international legitimacy resolutions.

He explained that the Sultanate of Oman is keen to protect the rights of peoples and support efforts of development and welfare as the best way to ensure stability. He added that achieving the two-state solution in accordance with United Nations resolutions is a fundamental pillar for achieving this goal.

He pointed out that the Sultanate of Oman believes that the international community's support for humanitarian action, especially for the UN organisations that provide relief to millions of Palestinian refugees, is indispensable to achieve balance, provide elements of a decent life, and restore hope for a just and secure future.

Al Rahbi called for the necessity of practical steps that reflect Islamic solidarity and have a tangible impact on the ground and clear positions towards the transition from condemnation to action. He stressed that the Sultanate of Oman will remain committed to the necessity of dialogue and diplomatic work as a basic tool for reaching solutions that guarantee security and stability for all peoples of the region, and avoiding escalation that threatens regional and international peace. — ONA
