Muscat: The existing Mumbai-Muscat-Mumbai flight of the Indian full-fledged airline, Vistara, will be operated by Air India under a new code.
The Vistara flights UK233 and UK 234 will now have codes AI2233 and AI2234 while other services onboard will remain the same, sources in Muscat told the Observer.
The last flight to be operated with the Vistara code will be on November 11.
Vistara serves only India's commercial capital of Mumbai from Muscat.
It may be noted that from July, all flights operated by legacy carrier Air India from the Sultanate of Oman were transferred to the budget airline Air India Express.
Vistara, which started operating non-stop daily flights to Muscat in November 2022, is the only carrier to offer Premium Economy class on the route, in addition to business and economy seats.
According to Air India, if the flights are scheduled before November 12, the booking with Vistara remains unchanged. If the flights are scheduled on or after November 12, 2024, the bookings will seamlessly transition from Vistara to Air India's reservation system.
For international travelers, Air India and Vistara support staff will be visible near check-in counters to assist with questions at all airports.
Signage will be positioned at key points to guide travelers effectively, keeping the process as straightforward as possible.
