Membership matters including potential suspensions, expulsions or dissolutions will be addressed alongside proposals for amendments to the organisation’s statutes and the approval of the subscription system. Additionally, the appointment of the president of the Judicial Commission will underscore the organisation’s commitment to upholding standards and integrity. Members will then hear a presentation on the electoral process.
The assembly will proceed with the election of the president and the selection of new ordinary members of the Executive Board. In alignment with the organisation’s mission to promote athlete development and well-being, the launch of the Athletes and Development Portals and a new Mental Health Project will be announced. The assembly will close with a special awards presentation to honour exceptional contributors within the organisation, followed by closing remarks to reflect on the day’s discussions and actions.
FIH Empowerment and Engagement Forum
On Friday, the delegates of Continental Federations and National Associations gathered in Muscat for the 'FIH Empowerment and Engagement Forum', discussing several important topics.
Jon Wyatt, Interim Senior Director at FIH, described the forum as a valuable platform for delegates to share insights on various technical aspects. “Two significant topics took centre stage – the role of athletes in hockey and advancing women in the sport. In the athletes' discussion, delegates shared their experiences, especially in preparing athletes for life after retirement,” he said.
“We are proud that gender equity is a priority in hockey, although men outnumber women among coaches. We are working on initiatives to increase the number of women coaches and collaborating with national coaches to achieve this goal,” he added.
During the forum, the FIH announced Croatia as the host for the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup in February 2025. Chile will host the FIH Nations Cup for Women in February 2025, while Oman will host the FIH Nations Cup for Men the same year. India has been selected to host the FIH Junior World Cup for Men in December 2025.
