Muscat: Seven restaurants and eight other businesses, including barber shops, were closed in Salalah for not adhering to health requirements as part of the efforts made by the Health Control Section that monitor various activities.
Restaurants were closed for not adhering to health requirements such as not properly storing food, using workers’ housing as a place to store food and meat used in preparing skewers and burgers.
Samples of food offered for sale were taken to be tested in the laboratory to verify their compliance with standard specifications. Samples of water used in restaurants and food activities were also taken to ensure its suitability for use.
