MUSCAT: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has officially launched a tender for the development of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. This ambitious project is expected to create an integrated industrial environment, supporting a range of sectors such as mining, food, and tourism. Located near key raw material sources and major transportation routes, Al Mudhaibi Industrial City aims to boost regional economic development and attract new investments.

Eng Saleh bin Salman al Abri, Director General of Facilities and Infrastructure at Madayn, said that all preliminary steps for the project, including soil testing, traffic analysis, and topographical studies, have been completed. The first phase will span approximately 2.5 million square metres and include essential services like roads, water, sewage systems, lighting, and security infrastructure. In addition, a service center called "Masar" will act as a one-stop shop for investors, offering administrative support and meeting facilities.

The industrial city is strategically located near Oman’s primary road networks, connecting it to major ports and border crossings.

An area of 100,000 square metres has been set aside for logistics, reflecting Madayn’s commitment to fostering a competitive logistical ecosystem. There are also designated zones for agricultural investment in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources. This is intended to promote the development of food security projects that utilise local resources, as well as support transformation industries in the governorate.

Eng. Saeed bin Khalfan al Shabibi, Acting Director General of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, stated that the new industrial city will serve as a catalyst for economic growth in North Al Sharqiyah by providing a conducive environment for a range of industrial, commercial, and service-oriented activities. He highlighted the attractive incentives and exemptions available to investors, positioning Al Mudhaibi as an appealing location for new ventures.

By inviting businesses to submit investment applications, Al Mudhaibi Industrial City signals the beginning of a new phase in Oman’s industrial sector, aimed at diversifying the economy, creating jobs, and strengthening the region’s appeal as a hub for manufacturing and industrial growth. The city also aims to promote renewable energy and knowledge industries, working closely with local educational institutions to foster innovation in these sectors. — ONA
