RIYADH: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) which concluded on Thursday in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).


The event was organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).


Oman was represented during the forum by Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.


The forum aimed to enhance partnerships with the organisation and its programmes. It also targeted devising innovative solutions and industrial policies that support industrial development on the regional and international spheres.


Moreover, the MIPF covered a spectrum of topics, such as Arab industrial integration and strategies to benefit from industrial policies.


Several sessions were held during the forum on topics such as the utilisation of AI and digital transformation in the field of industry. Meanwhile, Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, also participated in the Energy Localisation Forum, held in Riyadh.


During this forum several prominent agreements were signed, such as a partnership agreement between GCC Lab Company and Oman’s Voltamp Energy.


The partnership pertains to establishing a power transformer asset management centre in Damman 3rd Industrial City, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. — ONA
