MUSCAT: The second Arab Forum for Tourism Statistics will commence on Monday, October 14, in Muscat. Organized by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Arab League, the forum will run for three days.


Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, will preside over the opening.


The forum coincides with Sur being named the Arab Tourism Capital for 2024 and aims to foster Arab cooperation in tourism statistics. It will feature discussions on four main themes, including the role of tourism statistics in national development, innovations in tourism data, and Arab and global experiences in data use.


Tourism experts from various countries and international organizations are expected to participate in the event. — ONA
