MUSCAT: Oman’s Minister of Finance, Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, met with Badr Mohammed al Saad, Director General and Chairman of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, to discuss enhancing cooperation between Oman and the Fund.

During the meeting, a loan agreement was signed to finance the first phase of establishing a new branch of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Musandam Governorate. This agreement extends the existing collaboration between the two sides in supporting developmental, economic, and social projects across Oman.

The new UTAS branch in Musandam is a key initiative under Oman Vision 2040, aiming to equip graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to meet the demands of the labor market. The university will offer specialized programs in economics, business administration, information technology, engineering, and education, catering to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. This initiative is set to enhance national capabilities and prepare qualified professionals for the future. — ONA
