Muscat: Rasheed Jaber, a national coach and head of the Seeb team, will take over the national team of the Sultanate of Oman, succeeding the former Czech coach Jaroslav Šilhavý.
Jaber is set to restructure the team and appoint his assistant technical staff ahead of Oman's crucial match against Kuwait, scheduled on October 10 in Muscat.
The new coach is expected to introduce several changes to the squad, potentially bringing in players previously excluded under the former management.
Meanwhile, OFA had already assigned coach Rasheed to lead the team after sacking the German Stange in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers, following the loss to Uzbekistan in Tashkent (5/0).
OFA has confirmed that an official press conference will be held soon to introduce Jaber and outline his plans for the team.
