Cruise ship passengers to get a 10-day free visa

Muscat: The Inspector General of Police and Customs, has issued Decision 131/2024 amending some provisions of the Executive Regulations of the Foreigners' Residence Law.


The decision stipulates that Article (1) Clause (3/c) of Article (10) of the Executive Regulations of the Foreigners' Residence Law referred to shall be replaced by the following clause: 1 -


Visit visa for passengers and crew of tourist ships for ten days: It shall be granted by the competent authority upon the request of the agent of the tourist ship and under his responsibility to passengers and crew of tourist ships wishing to visit the Sultanate of Oman for tourism and authorizes its holder to enter the Sultanate of Oman and reside therein for a period not exceeding ten days, provided that entry is completed within 30 days from the date of issuance of the visa. The ten-day visa will be free of cost.


One-month visit visa for passengers and crew of tourist ships: Granted by the competent authority upon the request of the tourist ship agent and under his responsibility to passengers and crew of tourist ships wishing to visit the Sultanate of Oman for tourism purposes, and authorizes its holder to enter the Sultanate of Oman and reside therein for one month, provided that entry is completed within 30 days from the date of issuance of the visa.
