MUSCAT: Oman exported 179.036 million barrels of crude oil by the end of July 2024, with an average price of $82.50 per barrel, according to preliminary figures from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
These exports accounted for 84.5% of Oman’s total oil production, which totaled 211.589 million barrels during the same period. Despite a slight 0.05% rise in exports, total oil production saw a 5.2% drop. Crude oil production fell by 7.1%, reaching 162.2 million barrels, while oil condensate production increased by 1.6%, recording 49.68 million barrels.
Oman’s average daily oil output reached 994,800 barrels through July 2024, reflecting the country’s efforts to maintain stable production levels despite global volatility.
China continued its dominance as the largest importer of Omani oil, purchasing 171.078 million barrels — an increase of 4.8% from the previous year. Japan, Oman’s second-largest buyer, imported 3.455 million barrels, but this represented a 40.9% decrease compared to 2023. Meanwhile, South Korea’s imports grew by 28.1%, reaching 2.5 million barrels.
These figures underscore Oman’s ongoing commitment to maintaining strong oil export volumes amid fluctuations in production levels. — ONA
