In conjunction with the announcement of the unified admission results and the start of student registration procedures, teams from the General Directorate of Missions at the Ministry of Higher Education visited several private higher education institutions to follow up on the procedures for completing the registration of general education diploma students, follow up on students delegated for this year, and support the efforts of private higher education institutions during this stage.
The Higher Education Admission Center at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation announced the admission results for the first sorting for the academic year 2024/2025, and the total number of those accepted in the first sorting reached (27178) male and female students.
After the end of the specified deadline for selecting students accepted in the flexible internal missions of the institution in which they wish to study and specialize, which was available through their registration page in the unified admission system during the first three working days of the period extending from Wednesday, August 21 to 25,
Students received a response from the institution to which he applied during the mentioned period. If the number of applicants to an institution exceeds its capacity, the educational institution will compare applicants according to the mechanism announced in the appendix to the student guide for joining higher education institutions for the academic year 2024/2025 (for the stage of modifying desires), and if the institution rejects a student who applied for it for any of the reasons mentioned above, he has the right to choose another institution during the remaining period specified to complete the registration procedures.
The Admission Center announced that the center will provide a service for those who misordered the selection starting from Monday, September 2 until Wednesday, September 4. This service is intended for all students, whether they have received a study offer in the first sorting, have not received a study opportunity, or have not previously registered in the system. The student is required to meet the controls and conditions of the service, which are the availability of a vacant seat in the study program that the student wishes to compete for and that his competitive average in it is higher than or equal to the last competitive average accepted in that program in the first sorting.
The Higher Education Admission Center noted that students with non-Omani certificates whose final results will appear after the first sorting results are announced should contact the center immediately after their results are announced and provide them with the necessary documents. As for second-round students, the center will conduct a special sorting for them after their final results are announced. Note that their right to compete for the academic programs they registered for is reserved according to the mechanism followed annually.
A source in the ministry said that this service has been provided to facilitate procedures for the students and provide the opportunity to review the selection and provide the largest appropriate number of opportunities for our students. This step is an effective and appropriate step for all students to help them make the appropriate choice for their academic goals and the next stage of their lives.
The center is scheduled to announce the vacancies of academic programs—if any—for the second sorting stage in early November 2024 and will announce other registration and acceptance dates at the time. It urged students to follow up on the developments and announcements issued by the center through its various awareness channels and to obtain information from its source. It also urges all accepted students to quickly complete the registration procedures according to the procedure followed by each educational institution.
