

SALALAH: The Fikr Media Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, launched a significant conference aimed at developing second-line leaders.
The event, which took place at the Millennium Resort in Salalah, was inaugurated by Dr Mohammed bin Khamis al Farsi, Advisor to the Minister of Labour for Planning and International Relations, and featured a roster of distinguished experts and speakers in the fields of leadership and management.
The conference is designed to support senior professionals, including general managers, department heads, executive directors, and strategic planning and human resources leaders.
Its primary goal is to empower these professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to adapt to the rapidly changing global landscape and technological advancements.
Emphasising the importance of preparing the next generation of leaders, the conference is seen as crucial to achieving sustainable development in Oman. It aims to foster national talent and bolster the capabilities of the country's leadership.
Among the core topics being discussed are modern leadership principles, effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving strategies.
The event also highlights the role of innovation and technology in leadership, exploring how modern tools can be leveraged for management and institutional progress. Additionally, sessions will delve into emotional intelligence, self-motivation, productivity, creativity, personal and professional growth, time management, strategic planning, and the practical application of emotional intelligence in the workplace.
Spanning two days, the conference will feature high-profile lectures. Dr Saad al Barrak, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil of Kuwait will speak on 'Collective Leadership and Strategic Planning.' Dr Maen Qatamin, former Jordanian Minister of Labour and Minister of State for Investment Affairs will discuss 'Principles of Modern Leadership.' The first day concluded with Dr Amer al Rawas, a transformational leader, presenting on 'Innovation and Technology.'
This event marks a pivotal moment in the effort to equip Oman's leadership with the tools necessary to face future challenges and drive the nation towards continued growth and success.
