Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its condemnation and strong denunciation of the assassination of the late Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of Hamas, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, which is a blatant violation of international law and clearly undermines efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry affirmed its firm position in rejecting all forms of terrorism, regardless of their motives and causes, as well as violations of state sovereignty and sanctities.

It called on the international community to intervene urgently to punish the perpetrators of these crimes and political assassinations and to take immediate action to stop the Israeli aggression and the continuation of the illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories.

It demanded strong action against the policy of killing, extremism, and abuse practiced against the defenseless Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

The Sultanate of Oman also expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the late martyr, Ismail Haniyeh, and his companions, and called for patience and solace for the brotherly Palestinian people and the Palestinian leadership.
