

IBRI: Al Dhahirah Governorate has made a wide stride in terms of the upcoming development projects one of the most important of which is the Ibri Overlook project in the Al Sulayf area in the Wilayat of Ibri which won the award for the best proposed development project among the top three winning projects in the competition announced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
Najib bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, said that the Ibri Overlook project’s winning of this award comes as a translation of the continuous efforts made by the governorate to achieve sustainable development as part of a wider strategy that aims to develop governorates and align their programmes with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The project will have significant social and economic impacts on the local communities and economy. The project will have positive social-economic impacts by creating job opportunities, stimulating economic growth, enhancing infrastructure and enriching the overall quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
The Ibri Overlook project will place the city of Ibri as a local and international commercial and entertainment destination. The environmental impact of the project was taken into account during the design stages of the project by applying technologies that achieve a balance between quality and sustainability such as the use of renewable energy, smart infrastructure, green construction and sustainable transportation, the governor said.
The project has a total area of 2 million square metres with an investment value of RO 183 million.
The Ministry of Finance will finance the first phase with RO 10 million reflecting the government’s constant keenness to advance all elements of infrastructure and enhance sustainable economic growth in the governorates.
The first phase of the project is expected to be implemented within two years. The project consists of 3 hotels, a shopping mall, residential areas for real estate and commercial development, recreational and environmentally-friendly areas such as gardens, resorts, parks and a youth centre.
