Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has enforced strict regulations and stringent penalties under Omani law for possessing, using, and trafficking narcotics. This hard stance on drug-related offenses underscores the nation's commitment to maintaining social order and public health.

In an online statement, the Public Prosecution (PP) reiterated that a fine of RO 1,000 and three-year imprisonment is imposed on anyone possessing narcotic or psychotropic substances, or any tool used in consuming such substances, who refuses to provide the necessary sample to detect such abuse.

Meanwhile, offenders found guilty of providing narcotic substances or psychotropic substances to users, or channeling their use outside legal boundaries, will face ten-year imprisonment and a hefty fine of RO 15,000, as stipulated in Article 44/4 of the Law on Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances.
