

MUSCAT: Taha bin Sulaiman al Kishri, Secretary-General of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), met in his office Amjad Malik Aziz, Secretary-General of the Asian Sports Press Federation on Monday, who is visiting Oman, in the presence of Ahmed bin Saif al Kaabi, member of the Executive Office of the Asian Sports Press Federation, and Salim al Habsi, President of GCC Sports Media Federation.
During the meeting, it was emphasised that the Asian Sports Press Federation is keen to communicate with various national Olympic committees and various sports bodies and institutions in the Asian continent, and to learn about their programmes and activities in the media field in general, and sports journalism in particular, with the aim of strengthening partnership and exchanging experiences.
The attendees also discussed the opportunities available to enhance the role of sports media in the region and develop sports media relations. Emphasising the importance of the role of the media in promoting sports culture and spreading Olympic values among young people.
