SUHAR: The Omani Women's Association (OWA) in Al Khaboura recently organised an exhibition showcasing the products of local craftswomen and small business owners. The event was held under the auspices of HH Sayyida Hujaija Jaifer al Said.

The expo highlighted comprehensive support and training provided by the association to help women develop businesses and improve their income.

Through a series of targeted workshops and training, OWA has equipped women with essential skills in creating strong business identities, product development, and smart marketing.

Moza al Hosni, head of OWA Al Khabourah, says: “Our strategic goals focus on empowering Omani women. We aim to help women become reliable sources of steady income. By offering training, mentorship, and development programmes, we strive to create an environment where women entrepreneurs can thrive and contribute significantly to their communities."

Participants also learnt on ways to develop unique brand names and logos that reflect the essence of their products and appeal to their target audience.

An entrepreneur said, “I started selling bakhoor burners online. Then I took many courses and have learnt a lot through the association. Now I have my own brand and a shop with well-planned goals.”

An exciting aspect of the association's efforts is the opportunity for craftswomen to network and learn from established business owners. The exhibition included sessions where successful entrepreneurs shared their experiences, offered mentorship, and provided insights into overcoming challenges.

Another craftswoman said: “Thanks to the association, which organises workshops and then showcases our products in the local exhibitions.”

The impact of these initiatives was evident in the diverse range of products displayed at the exhibition.

From intricate hand-woven textiles and jewelry to innovative home decor and organic skincare products, the creativity and dedication of Al Khaboura's craftswomen were on full display. Visitors were impressed by the high quality and originality of the products, many of which have already gained recognition and demand in the market.
