Muscat: The Military Hajj Mission left here on Monday for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the pilgrimage on a number of transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).
The mission was seen off upon departure at Seeb Air Base by Major General (retired) Said bin Nasser al Salmi alongside senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other military and security forces.
Al Salmi delivered a speech in which he said that Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam and it brings together Muslims from all over the world. He noted that the military Hajj mission receives great attention and generous care from His Majesty the Supreme Commander.
Al Salmi congratulated the pilgrims for making the journey of faith, urging them to cooperate and support each other and to be ambassadors of goodness for their country. He prayed to Allah the Almighty to facilitate their Hajj rituals wishing them a safe return to the homeland after completing the pilgrimage.
Noteworthy, dispatching the Military Hajj Mission comes in response to the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander for the benefit of working personnel and the retirees of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other military and security forces. — ONA
