Muscat: The Social Protection Fund is actively participating in the COMEX exhibition being held from May 27 to 30 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, to showcase their advancements in electronic technologies.

The event aimed to keep beneficiaries informed about over 25 new electronic services designed to facilitate easy and convenient access for both insured individuals and employers.

Habib al Lawati, Director-General of the General Directorate of Digital Solutions for the Social Protection Fund, highlighted the Fund’s focus on social benefit services in 2024. These services cater to the elderly, children, people with disabilities, orphans and widows. The digital transformation initiative has streamlined processes by linking necessary documents and verification with various service ministries such as the Royal Oman Police, Civil Service, and the banking sector. This integration significantly reduces the time and burden on beneficiaries, allowing for quick and efficient registration and benefits disbursement.

Al Lawati emphasised that this year marks the Fund’s inaugural participation in the COMEX exhibition. The event served as a platform to launch various social services and gather public feedback to enhance these offerings.

The Fund also announced the upcoming launch of a mobile application, which will be developed based on citizen feedback and suggestions.

The COMEX exhibition provided an opportunity for the Social Protection Fund to engage with its target groups and the broader community. Through an interactive booth, visitors could contribute to the development of the Fund’s electronic services system by sharing creative ideas for designing and engineering the new smartphone application. This initiative aims to meet the aspirations and needs of both individuals and institutions, enhancing overall service delivery.
