Tehran: Mohammad Mokhber, Acting President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Monday.
Sayyid Badr conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to His Eminence Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and to the president along with his good wishes for the leadership and the Islamic Republic of Iran for goodness and development.
The Iranian president asked Sayyid Badr to convey the sincere greetings and wishes of His Eminence Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Iranian leadership to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people for continued progress and prosperity, expressing his deep thanks and appreciation for the solidarity of the Sultanate of Oman with the Islamic Republic of Iran in its ordeal.
His Excellency expressed his sincere condolences on the passing of President Dr Ibrahim Raisi and his companions, praying to the Lord - Glory be to Him - to cover them with His vast mercy and satisfaction and to make them dwell in His spacious gardens with the patient, martyrs and righteous people.
The two sides stressed the strong relations between the two friendly countries and the continuation and strengthening of cooperation in all fields.
Sayyid Badr also met with Ali Bagheri Kani, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common concern and the efforts aimed at finding political and peaceful solutions to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. They stressed the need for the international community to take firm measures to stop the brutal aggression against the Palestinian people and achieve justice and freedom for them in accordance with the international conventions.
They also stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and cooperation between countries in the region to address common challenges. The two meetings were attended by Khalid bin Hashel al Musalhi, Under-secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs and a number of officials from both sides. — ONA
