SINGAPORE: Asyad Group, represented by Asyad Shipping Company, has opened a commercial office in Singapore. This strategic move aims to strengthen Asyad's global presence and operational capabilities in one of the world's key shipping hubs, providing effective maritime shipping solutions to various global companies and connecting them with major commercial markets.


Dr Ibrahim al Nadhairi, CEO of Asyad Shipping and Dry Dock Company, confirmed that the Asyad Group continues to implement its strategy of diversifying and renewing its maritime fleet in line with the maritime sector's requirements and global trade trends.


He pointed out that Asyad Shipping Company owns and manages 85 multipurpose vessels, ranking 18th globally in crude oil tanker ownership, 21st in LNG and oil tanker ownership, and 51st in container shipping.

Kevin Ng, the director of Asyad Shipping's commercial office in Singapore, stated that the office represents a strategic step to diversify the company's commercial operations and expand its global presence by offering effective and reliable maritime shipping services to its global clients to support their business growth and meet their needs.


He added in a statement that the opening of the commercial office in Singapore comes amid global trends towards improving and developing maritime shipping services and enhancing global trade. Singapore plays a pivotal role in this sector as one of the largest maritime and logistics commercial hubs in the world. He explained that the office manages various maritime shipping vessels to transport products and oil derivatives to global destinations.


He noted that the office began its initial operations in 2023 by managing nine vessels. With the growth of commercial operations and the increasing reliability of the company's global clients, the number of vessels managed by the office has currently risen to 15, transporting oil products and raw materials.


He explained that recent times have seen growing and increasing demand for the shipment of various petrochemical products from Duqm Refinery to many global markets, including Singapore, promising more opportunities for commercial cooperation between the two parties in several sectors such as LNG and crude oil.


Kevin Ng emphasized that the office enjoys support from the Singaporean government, offering various incentives related to economic aspects and the exchange of expertise. He noted that Asyad Group continues to affirm its commitment to providing innovative and effective maritime shipping solutions, enhancing its global commercial presence as one of the leading maritime transport companies in the world and promoting the Sultanate of Oman as a global logistics center. — ONA
