MUSCAT: Earlier this year, Nama Power and Water Procurement (PWP) successfully sold I-REC(E) to Sohar Aluminium Company LLC, following its first round of auction for the Dhofar Wind IPP I-REC(E). This sale marks an important milestone for the Sultanate of Oman as it embarks on its energy transition and decarbonisation journey.
In alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and Oman’s commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2050 and following the success of the first round of the Dhofar Wind IPP I-REC(E) auction, PWP is pleased to announce the initiation of the second round of Dhofar Wind IPP I-REC(E) auction. PWP invites interested entities to participate in the auction to purchase wind power I-REC(E) from the energy generated from the 50-megawatt (MW) utility scale wind power project located in Dhofar, the Sultanate of Oman, in 2023.
Entities interested in participating in the second round of Dhofar Wind IPP I-REC(E) auction are invited to purchase the 'Instructions to Auction. document.
Moreover, interested entities are invited to join a live session on MS Teams session (Meeting ID:320 645 988785 Passcode:7sKwkF) in which representatives from PWP and Three Pillars Consulting (local I-RECs issuer) will provide additional information on the auction process and the registration requirements.
