Muscat: The Nizwa Court of Appeal recently upheld six rulings issued by the Court of First Instance in Bahla convicting the accused Badr bin Talib bin Mohammed, a citizen of
of theft at night punishable under Articles 340/A and 342/B of the Omani Penal Law.
The first ruling stipulated that the accused be punished for the first with one year’s imprisonment and a fine of RO300, while the second ruling stipulated three months’ imprisonment, provided that the two penalties against him are combined and the more severe is implemented.
It also obliged the accused to return the stolen goods to the victims and compensate them with an order to suspend part of the prison sentence.
Public Prosecution investigations revealed that Bahla Police Station received a case from victims about their homes being robbed before an unknown person using the same method.
The accused entered the house at night and removed doors with an iron tool to reach rooms to commit burglary.
Following search operations and during investigations, the police the accused admitted to committing the offense.
After investigating the cases, the Public Prosecution concluded that the accused be referred to the court competent for the crimes charged against him.
