Muscat, May 9

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning reviewed a structural plan of Greater Nizwa in a panel discussion entitled 'Development Partners for the Structural Plan of Greater Nizwa', and its future vision.

The discussion was held in the presence of Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, and Dr Mohammed bin Ali al Muttawa, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for Urban Planning.

The seminar aimed to bring together development partners in Nizwa and inform the main local development partners of the current status of the development of the master plan as well as exchanging information related to the data and information reached at this stage.

The new structural plan, which aims to transform the city into a modern and sustainable urban centre, was also presented. This announcement comes as part of the government’s efforts to develop infrastructure and improve the quality of life in Omani cities.

The vision of the Greater Nizwa Master Plan aims to provide an integrated urban environment that meets the needs of citizens and residents of the city. Among the basic principles of the master plan are the provision of adequate housing, advanced public facilities, green spaces and sustainable means of transportation.

The structural plan for Greater Nizwa is scheduled to include the establishment of modern residential areas equipped with all necessary amenities and facilities, such as schools, hospitals and commercial centres. Urban diversity will also be enhanced by providing spaces for commercial, industrial, cultural and recreational activities.

The planned green spaces in the city reflect the environmental vision of the master plan, as there will be open areas, gardens, pedestrian paths and cycling paths. These spaces will provide a comfortable and sustainable environment for residents to enjoy the outdoors and practice sports activities.

In addition, the master plan focuses on improving transportation in the city, as an integrated transportation network will be provided, including public buses, mass transportation and a modern road network. These improvements will contribute to alleviating traffic congestion and improving the travel experience for residents.

Citizens can also listen to the explanation and learn the details of the project in the presentation at Nizwa Grand Mall from May 8 to 10.
