MUSCAT: The State Council on Wednesday hosted Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, to review the developments and efforts made by various institutions to realise the goals of Oman Vision 2040.


The meeting was held at Al Bustan Hall at the Council of Oman in the presence of Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, and members of the council.


The Secretary-General of the State Council delivered a speech in which he welcomed the chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, noting that the meeting comes within the context of communication and cooperation between the State Council and the state’s departments and units to shed light on the unit’s work and the challenges facing the implementation of Oman Vision 2040.


Dr Munther bin Hilal al Busaidy, Vice-Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, delivered a visual presentation in which he discussed the national efforts made during the various stages of preparation of the vision’s document. He explained the main components of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and its mechanisms for following up on the implementation of Oman Vision 2040 and the challenges facing the implementation of Oman Vision 2040.


Al Busaidy added that the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit is entrusted with providing support and assistance to the parties concerned, creating and strengthening effective partnerships and developing cooperation, following up on services and establishing systems and procedures.


During the presentation, he stated that the most prominent foundations on which the unit is based include partnership, responsibility, flexibility and integration. He added that the vision revolves around four axes namely human and society, economy and development, sustainable environment, governance and institutional performance.


At the conclusion of the meeting, the chairman of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit responded to questions raised by members of the State Council.
