Muscat: Seeb emerged champions of the Omantel League late on Tuesday after defeating Bahla 1-0 in a match held at the Nizwa Sports Complex as part of the 20th round of the competition.

In the first half, Seeb exerted strong control as they appeared more organised in both attack and defence. The players led the successive attacks with precise passes and harmonious movements, and in the end, Abdulrahman al Mashari managed to open the scoring for his team in the sixth minute of the half. The attacks were exchanged between the two sides to end the first half with Seeb leading 1-0.

As for the second half, both teams raised the intensity. Bahla tried their best to score the equaliser, but Seeb's defence remained solid and organised to achieve the victory.

With this result, Seeb raised their score to 51 points, who achieved the top of the league table without the possibility of being caught by second-placed Al Nahda with 40 points, as only two rounds remain in the competition.

On the other hand, Bahla's tally froze at 14 points, leaving them in 11th place (before last), and they need a miracle to stay in the league next season. Bahla are six points behind Dhofar, who occupy 10th place with 20 points, which means that their only chance of staying is to win the next two rounds with Dhofar losing each of them.

Al WAHDA RELEGATED

After losing in a strong confrontation against Al Nasr 1-0, Al Wahda were relegated to the first division league for the next season. The match was held at Al Saada Sports Complex.

In the first half, the match was equal between the two teams, as it ended in a draw. Despite some timid attacks from both sides, the real scoring opportunities were few. The goalkeeper for both teams was able to save the shots that reached the goal.

The start of the second half witnessed momentum from Al Nasr, when Walid al Muslimi managed to score the only goal in the match in the 47th minute, after a powerful shot from inside the penalty area. After the goal, Al Nasr increased the pace of their attacks in an attempt to score an additional goal, and Mehdi al Hamidan almost added the second goal in the 76th minute.

Al Wahda tried to respond to the pressure and created some threatening opportunities for Al Nasr's goal, but the strong defensive tactics of Al Nasr and the brilliance of their goalkeeper Hassan al Buraiki prevented any goals from being scored.

With this victory, Al Nasr's score rose to 28 points, snatching fifth place from Al Rustaq, while Al Wahda's relegation was officially confirmed.
