Sudan's Tarco Aviation to launch Muscat flights

MUSCAT: The Sudan-based Tarco Aviation will connect the cities of Muscat and Port Sudan with two flights per week, Oman Airports said in a statement.


Tarco also operates flights to Cairo, Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Sharjah and Dubai.


Port Sudan is a city and port on the Red Sea in eastern Sudan and the capital of Red Sea State and it is Sudan's main seaport and the source of 90 per cent of the country's international trade.


Tarco Aviation is an airline based in Khartoum, Sudan, established in 2009. With over 1,200 employees and 11 aircraft, the company is one of the largest aviation companies in Sudan currently operating scheduled passenger flights, charter, and leasing.


In December last year, Badr Airlines started operations from Port Sudan International Airport, operating two weekly flights. Badr Airlines is based in Khartoum, Sudan, operating cargo and passenger air services for humanitarian aid missions and chartered VIP flights.


OMAN AIR INCREASES FREQUENCIES


Oman Air has increased frequencies to some destinations to meet the demand during the summer season.


The airline increased frequencies to Dar es Salaam-Zanzibar from three to six flights per week from July 1, to Bangkok from 12 to 14 per week from July 1.


It also increased the number of its flights to Calicut from 7 to 11 per week from June 3, and increased flights to Phuket from 4 to 7 flights per week, starting from June 17.


The number of flights to Kuala Lumpur goes up to 5 from 4 per week from July 6. The number of flights to Milan goes up to 3 to 4 per week from July 7.


The airline announced the start of its flights to Zurich from October 5 with three flights per week instead of October 27.
